From my Library .... 1959 Vauxhall PA Velox

One of the benefits of working at Millbrook is that now and then I have the chance to get involved in some pretty interesting stuff! Most of it I can't talk about, but on this occasion ....
We had quite a few vehicles from the Vauxhall Heritage Collection on site for  a 'through the ages' photo shoot for the then new Vauxhall Insignia, so we took full advantage to get some shots for our own use.

This is a very striking 1959 Vauxhall PA Velox with a 2.25 litre, 6-cylinder engine fitted with a 3 speed GM Hydromatic auto-Transmission. It cost just £998 when new and was produced from 1957 until 1962.

It's seen here on the famous Millbrook 'Hill Route' or sometimes called 'Alpine Track' as featured on many a motoring programme and even in the Bond epic Casino Royale (as the hills of Montenegro no less! - Not seen it? Watch it here)

Luverley!
